Regular Courses

Most of our language schools abroad offer a standard or “regular” course which usually lasts 4 hours per day running from Monday to Fridays.  Whether you study Spanish, French, Italian, English, German and Portuguese, this type of course is the most popular among our students, since it allows you to study 4 hours and then you have the rest of the day and night free for other activities, excursions, etc.

This is just perfect for those who want to combine study with tourism, fun and other activities. These 4 hours are called “lessons” or “classroom hours”. A classroom hour may last 45, 50 or 60 minutes depending on the methodology of each school.  For example, German schools generally use 45-minutes classroom hours, and Spanish schools in Latin America and Spain prefer 50-minutes classroom hours.

EduQuality recommends this type of course when you have more than 2 weeks to study since it has the best balance between study, rest and fun.   If you have less than 2 weeks and wish to learn as much as possible, then you should consider booking an intensive course or a combination of regular course with private classes.

Course Details:
The regular course is designed to help you improve key areas such as writing,  speaking, reading, and conversation skills. Teachers emphasize communication by using much interaction.   Classes are small -generally with a maximum of 5 to 8 students per class-, what allows a better personal communication with the teacher who will follow closer your learning process.     It will be very important that you try to speak only the language of the course. Surely you will find very interesting that you will be sharing the classroom with students from all parts of the world, and it feels wonderful when you communicate with them in the language that you are all learning.

Levels & Placement test:
Most schools use a method of 6 levels of language knowledge: Beginner, Basic, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced.  However, there are other schools using different denominations or methodologies.   Anyway, you may ask the school to provide you with their syllabus so you can show what you studied and achieved when you go back to your country.  Anyway, your advance will be properly explained in your certificate of completion.  During the first day of classes you will take a placement test so that the school can identify your previous level of knowledge of the language and then assign you to the correspondig class.

Teachers:
Teachers of our schools are enthusiastic professionals, specially trained and experienced in teaching the language to foreigners.   All of them have a university degree and a good level of general knowledge, which is very important to interact with the students. The skills and spirit of the teachers are relevant for the learning process and it is controlled closely by all our schools.

Certificate:
At the conclusion of your studies, you will receive a certificate of attendance and completion of the course specifying the level of the language reached, duration of the course and teacher comments on your advance and skills.

Start dates & Holidays:                                                                                         Our language schools worldwide are open all year long and classes start every Monday for the intermediate and advanced students. Some schools establish specific start dates for Beginners to ensure a good internal coordination.

Anyway, those who can’t begin on a Monday or don’t arrive for the specific start date, may begin with individual classes and later join a group of their level.
Please remember that the schools will be closed by short holidays. This information is on each of our language school profiles.
